Cat Genie-Self Washing, Self Flushing Cat Box

Popular item these days is the Cat Genie-Self Washing, Self Flushing Cat Box. Mess free, odor free. Your cat can still dig and cover, but you never have to buy or deal with cat litter again. Touch a button or pre-set the Genie to start the flushing. It uses permanent washable granules that never need changing.

The Cat Genie is not cheap, but considering that it eliminates the need for litter forever, a worthwhile investment.

Liquids drain through the granules and solid waste gets scooped and liquefied, then both are flushed with fresh water down the drain. Touch a button or pre-set the timer to start the wash cycle. Using water and veterinarian-approved SaniSolution, the unit scours and sanitizes the granules and cat-box interior to eliminate germs and odors. Its built-in dryer completes the cycle by blowing hot air over the granules to dry them. The unit acts like a cat box, washes and dries like an appliance, and flushes waste out of the home like a toilet.

Ideal for homes with two to three cats over six months old, the cat box sets up easily and maintains itself. Simply establish a one-time DIY connection to a cold-water supply line from a sink, toilet, or laundry; place the drain hose over a toilet rim or into a laundry drain; then plug the unit in.

Dimensions: 24" by 19" by 21". 2-year limited warranty.

Purchase from Amazon, SkyMall or SmartHome.

Some cats are just very fussy. If your cat will accept the CatGenie, most will take to it immediately some you need to slowly acclimate them to it. Your CatGenie comes with a guide with tips on acclimating your cat to your new CatGenie.

They also have a new model out, the CatGenie 120. The Cartridges have more washes and it has a Cat Activation feature where the CatGenie starts the cleaning process shortly after it senses your cat has used the CatGenie.

I must say - I love the concept of the cat genie - however, I bought one - and the cats HATED it. I have two cats - who both went in the genie - checked it out - one even urinated - but when neither cat would continue to use the cat genie - it wasn't pretty. Cats pooped and urinated on the furniture - as they seemed unhappy that the regular litter box was not around. For my cats, this product was useless and I had to send it back.
