Move Over Super Bowl XLIII -- Animal Planet Puppy Bowl V Premieres Today 2/01/09

Move over Super Bowl XLIII, Animal Planet's annual puppy competition Puppy Bowl V is back with an "all-star, all-adoptable" lineup of feisty, adorable pups.

Animal Planet has some "new recruits that are ready for their chance to conquer the pigskin--or a chew toy." Every puppy featured in Puppy Bowl V is recruited from a local shelter, and these little ones are "free agents" looking for a loving home.

"Pepper the Parrot" kicks off this year's sports extravaganza singing a unique rendition of the National Anthem. And move over Bruce Springsteen, the Puppy Bowl V has enlisted some frisky kittens for the Kitty Half-Time Show. Go online during the big game to vote for MVP -- Most Valuable Puppy. Puppy Bowl V premieres today Sunday, February 1, from 3-5 PM (ET/PT).
