Pledge Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair -- Don't Toss, May Be Reusable

The Pledge Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair is a nifty little product for picking up rampant shed fur, so we don't have to waste precious time vacuuming the furniture.

However, the manufacturer's instructions are to toss when through--wasteful and needlessly expensive. The hair collection container is held in place with pins, making it difficult to remove. Over at Consumerist a reader Jim came up with a solution:

Paying no heed to the package's warnings to "not try to empty or disassemble disposable sweeper", Jim found that, "if you hold the sweeper vertically and apply gentle, but firm, pressure to one of the rollers, it will pop out of its holder. You can then empty the catcher, carefully replace the roller and the sweeper will work like new!"
