The art of gourd carving was developed in Peru over the course of 4,000 years. Artisans carefully scrape away the green outer layer, and dry them in the sun. They use sharp knives to score lines into the yellow surface, and use fire to shade their distinctive illustrations with browns and blacks.
Each birdhouse has a shaded, 1.25" diameter opening and three drainage holes. If it gets hot where you are, it might not be a bad idea to drill additional ventilation holes near the top. In two styles: Carved Owl or Owl in the Woods.
