Hot Dog? Life-Saving Collar Sends a Text Alert to Owner

We know it's always a bad idea to leave a dog alone in a car, especially one with no ventilation. Humans being what they are, however, these things happen. So even if you just dash into a shop for a second, soon a new internet-connected dog collar can notify you if your pet is overheated.
The Dog Caller will use a coded chip, a SIM card and a thermistor to send an alert to the owner's mobile phone when the temperature reaches around 26 degrees Celsius/78.8 degrees Fahrenheit around the dog. Rethink Toronto says the "Dog Caller" should be available next year for around $20.
