Hot Spot Treatment for Dogs -- Home Remedy

Comfy_Cone.jpg

Here at Super Cool Pets HQ we have suddenly come down with a rather large hot spot on our right side, after a whole doggy lifetime free of skin issues.

Routine enough, we hope, but this is further complicated by the fact that, being a Golden Retriever, everything new--and we do mean everything--freaks us out. Change is NOT okay.

Hot spots are created and aggravated by licking, so we tried on a Comfy Cone Pet Collar, but that caused a panic attack and lots of staggering around, bad for our back, not to mention nerves.

The treatment is a hydrocortisone spray for dogs that we just cover with a loose T-shirt which we are tolerating pretty well for a crazy dog.

Hope to be all well in a week. If not, on to oral antibiotics, prednisone or even a cortisone shot!

Note: This is not a medical blog, and we do not have a degree in veterinary medicine. For pet or human medical advice, consult with a qualified practitioner.
