Review: Carpet CPR Pet Stain and Odor Remover
Super Cool Pets headquarters is generally a little disheveled with so many pets milling around. We recommend hard floor surfaces for pet households rather than carpet. But since most of us do have some rugs around in any case, daily maintenance is a must to stay even remotely presentable.
Thus we happily accepted a sample spray bottle Carpet CPR Spot & Stain Remover
for review from LA-based Leather CPR. Carpet CPR is a spray that needs to penetrate the dirt on your carpet for about 3-5 minutes.
We treated a stain (so many spots, so little time), let it soak in and cleaned it up with a neutral cloth. The dirt was absorbed and removed, leaving a clean fresh smell.
Carpet CPR is also great for red wine, food stains, fruit juice, dirt, grease, coffee/tea, lipstick, ink, as well as pet stains. Spray carpet cleaners make effective laundry stain pre-treatment as well.

Musical Jukebox Toy Entertains Indoor Pet Birds
We recently added a new baby cockatiel to the Super Cool Pets team and have been scouting around for fun bird toys to make her feel at home. This Musical Jukebox Toy
should entertain and stimulate our new bird, as well as her older companion.

PetScoop -- New Trend: People Buried with their Pets
With a tax deadline fast approaching, it brings to mind the other certainty of life. Many of us plan to be buried alongside family members. Would that include your pet(s)? People have been buried with their animals throughout history, even prior to the era of Egyptian pharaohs and Roman emperors.
Christian missionaries, who believed that only humans have (are?) souls, discouraged communal burials in order to wean the pagans from their animal rituals and convert them to Christianity. (Note: If you believe your pet does not have a soul, check out Care for Pets Left Behind by the Rapture).
The United Kingdom is a nation of animal lovers with a strong historic background in pagansim. The UK trend is to include pets in their burial plans, according to an article in CNN Pets and people buried together.

Hummingbird Slow Motion Videos
We live in a sub-tropical climate that is (usually) quite warm and comfortable (except this winter). At least one pair of Ruby-Throats is back this year, buzzing around and feasting off the Firespike bushes and Bottlebrush tree. A Firespike right outside our office window affords a close-up of the birds feeding. One perches for minutes at a time on a tiny stem of the bush.
For those of you still in snow country, below are close-up videos of hummers feeding--the first out of someone's hand! The second two are set to music and quite beautiful.

Care for Pets Left Behind by the Rapture -- Eternal Earth-Bound Pets
Do you believe your pet has a soul?
Anywhere from 20 million to 40 million people in the melting pot we affectionately call the US of A are devout believers in The Rapture. To refresh your memory, in the off chance you find yourself excluded from this group, Jesus will return to Earth in the Second Coming. The righteous, both dead (what have they been up to in the meantime?) and alive, will ascend to a better place, while the unsaved remain behind on Earth. Hence, the Rapture.
But what will become of all the pets doomed to remain here on Earth, since these 20 to 40 million believe animals do not have souls and hence cannot partake?
Business Week reports that a new service called Eternal Earth-Bound Pets (219 comments on the article at this writing), all confirmed atheists, will step in to provide for the animals left behind by the 'saved'. Required qualifications of the reps: "animal lovers, are moral / ethical with no criminal background, have the ability and desire to rescue your pet and the means to retrieve them and ensure their care for your pet's natural life."
The service is limited to dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, and small caged mammals. For $110.00 they will guarantee that should the Rapture occur within ten (10) years of receipt of payment, one pet per residence will be saved. Each additional pet at your residence will be saved for an additional $15.00 fee.
