Joey Green's Amazing Pet Cures: 1,130 Simple Pet Remedies Using Brand-Name Products is by (surprise) Joey Green, the author of more than 40 books. He is a former contributing editor to National Lampoon and a former advertising copywriter. He appears regularly on news and entertainment television programs and at home and garden shows across the country.

For instance, he suggests using ChapStik to stop a bleeding claw, Listerine to reduce itching, vinegar to douse cat smells and and fabric softener in your pet's bath to soothe dry skin. All products have been tested for safety. Sounds like a great Mother's or Father's Day gift.

Pet Trainer Victoria Stilwell of It's Me or the Dog Fame to be Honored at Global Pet Expo 2011

You may be familiar with famed animal trainer Victoria Stilwell, the star of Animal Planet's hit TV series It's Me or the Dog which airs in more than 40 countries. If you haven't seen her shows yet, check them out. She is a passionate advocate for positive reinforcement training methods and teaches both owners and dogs through positive association and confidence building techniques.

American Pet Products Association (APPA) and Pet Industry Distributors Association (PIDA) have announced that Victoria Stilwell will receive the 2011 Global Pet Expo's annual "Excellence in Journalism and Outstanding Contributions to the Pet Industry Award". Victoria Stilwell will personally accept the award Thursday, March 17, 2011 in Orlando, Florida at the Global Pet Expo, the pet industry's largest annual tradeshow, taking place March 16-18, 2011 at the Orange County Convention Center.

In addition to her work on It's Me or the Dog, Victoria Stilwell is the author of the best-selling book It's Me or the Dog: How to Have the Perfect Pet.

PetScoop: 2011 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

The prestigious 135th annual Westminster Dog Show will be held Monday, February 14 and Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at New York City's Madison Square Garden. It is a champions-only dog show with 2,597 dogs of 179 breeds from 49 states competing this year.

The Hound, Toy, Non-Sporting, and Herding group competitions will be televised live Monday on USA Network from 8-9 PM ET and continuing on CNBC from 9-11 PM ET. The Sporting, Working, Terrier, and Best In Show competitions will be televised live Tuesday on USA Network from 8-11 PM ET.

Breed judging highlight videos are available throughout the day on Monday and Tuesday on the WKC site where there is also plenty of information on the show and breeds. The highlights will be available after the show, as well. The West Coast telecast is delayed for that time zone, so beware of spoilers on the site if you live there.
