GLC 1000 Arthritis and Joint Care for Dogs

glc1000.jpgOne of the Super Cool Pets family Golden Retrievers has arthritis and painful hip dysplasia, among other issues. Her vet has recommended GLC 1000. The formula contains USDA approved and certified pure chondrotin sulfate of US origin and pharmaceutical grade glucosamine.

After a few weeks, it appears to be reducing her pain. It's relatively inexpensive and over-the-counter, so if you cope with a pet in pain, give it a try.

PetScoop: Westminster Dog Show Best in Show 2011

mainimagebis2011.jpg

Congratulations to the 2011 Westminster Dog Show Best In Show trophy winner "GCH Foxcliffe Hickory Wind" a.k.a. "Hickory," a Scottish Deerhound.

The New York Times has created a fabulous Best in Breed interactive slide show of the 102 lucky dogs. And as they point out, At Westminster Dog Show, Familiar Breeds Get Little Respect:

So perhaps it is not surprising that the Labrador retriever has never won Best in Show in Westminster's 135 years. Other breeds better known as pets have also been overlooked. The golden retriever has never won, either, and the German shepherd and the pug have only won once apiece. In 2008, Uno the beagle became a household name after he was the first of his breed to win the top prize.

As with people, there are many different doggy lifestyles.

Yes, they are pampered and famous. But after checking out life as a show dog

we're thinking maybe that's just not for us.

Dog and Cat Escape Preventer

dogescprev.jpg

This Dog and Cat Escape Preventer is a retractable pet barrier that prevents pets from running outside when you greet guests at the door. As opposed to your typical pet gate, this barrier is opaque and prevents pets from seeing what's outside, causing them to lose interest.

The vinyl gate is tear- and puncture-resistant. It unclips from the door and automatically retracts for storage in the housing unit.
