Amazon Hot New Pet Film Release -- Hachi: A Dog's Tale

hachi.jpg

Get your tissue box ready. Based on a true story from 1930's Japan, Hachi: A Dog's Tale, is a new film about pet love and loyalty. Part of this movie is viewed from the dog's perspective. It is directed by Academy Award-nominated director Lasse Hallström (2000, The Cider House Rules).

A college music professor Parker Wilson, played by Richard Gere, finds a young Akita puppy abandoned at the local train station. He has a strong sense of town and community and assumes the dog's owner will return to the train station to claim him in the morning. Parker takes the puppy home overnight, but when no one comes to get the dog, Parker convinces his reluctant wife, Cate (Joan Allen), to adopt the pup into their family. He names the puppy Hachiko--Hachi, for short--because of the Japanese symbol for good luck that's hanging from his collar.

Pet Acoustics music has been specifically designed for the hearing sensitivities of your pet, in frequency, volume and rhythm, to calm and soothe your pet anytime, anywhere. The app is available at Apple iTunes.com

MyPetSpeaker_Front.jpg

For your home, the Pet Acoustics sound system, My Pet Speaker, will transform your music library into pet-friendly tunes that soothe and relax dogs, cats, horses, as well as the people they love.

Automated Pet Hair and Dirt Removal -- Neato Robotic Vacuum Cleaner

neatorobotic.jpg

The popular Roomba will soon have some competition. According to Priya Ganapati at Wired.com "despite a passionate community of users, Roomba has faced a few criticisms":

The gadget uses a randomized algorithm to clean a room, which has led to complaints that it doesn't always cover an area completely. Roomba has also suffered from a small bin that limits how much it can clean on a single battery charge. That also limits its ability to clean multiple rooms.

The new Neato Robotic Vacuum Cleaner is purportedly smarter than the Roomba. While the Roomba utilizes a zig zag pattern, the Neato cleans back-and-forth using mapping technology to determine the room's perimeter and locate walls and furniture up to 4 meters via a laser-guidance system, rather than through impact.

Dust-bin removal is out the back of the Roomba and from a relatively larger bin on the top of the Neato. Other Neato features are scheduling, detection of drop-offs and stairwells, and a low profile (less than four inches high) allowing it to clean under beds, sofas, and toe-kicks in the kitchen.

The Neato XV-11 all-floor vacuum system will be available for purchase in the U.S. this coming February 2010 priced at $399.
